Coming to visit us here in Guatemala can be an incredibly rewarding and life-changing experience! Every year we welcome extraordinary individuals, groups, and student sponsors who would like to see firsthand the work we do and get involved in a deeper way.
Ways to Experience
We believe that immersing yourself in a new and different culture can have a huge impact on the way you perceive and understand the world and its needs; it’s an experience that brings us all closer together. For this reason, we have created various visit opportunities available all year round, so you can be sure to visit us in the way that is right for you!
Visit Option 1: Custom Trips for Groups
We love hosting groups – whether it’s a Rotary Club, university group, or a group of friends! We offer a basic group package for groups of 8-20 people with a stay of 9 days and 8 nights in Panajachel. The package includes accommodations, transportation to and from the airport, transportation to and from your volunteer activities, and most meals, among other things.
With the logistics covered, the fun part starts! We help you fill in your itinerary by offering a range of activities to choose from, from installing an efficient stove in the home of a family in need, to learning traditional beading techniques with women from our Artisan Program. Visit Option 2: Cultural Immersion Itineraries
Is your group more drawn to cultural immersion? We have created three different cultural immersion programs, with focus areas of Artisan, Environment, and Health & Wellness. These programs will help you understand not only the programs Mayan Families operates to ensure strong, vibrant and self-sufficient Mayan communities, but also give you the opportunity to connect with Mayan culture from different perspectives and learn how to create a positive impact on your visit. Visit Option 3: Summer Experience

Visit Option 4: Student Experience
